Freeport Big Gossan Strata Collapse
On the morning of May 14, 2013, 38 employees and contract workers for PT Freeport Indonesia (PT-FI) were in an underground training center in a tunnel located outside the mining areas approximately 500 meters from the entrance of the Big Gossan mine in Papua, Indonesia when the tunnel collapsed.
This accident claimed the lives of 28 people.
