BMA Blackwater Rollover 2015
BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) has confirmed a grandfather of two has died at its Blackwater Mine this morning.
The company says the accident involved a raptor transporter vehicle.
"Authorities are currently on site investigating the incident and we are providing our full support," BMA said in a statement.
"We are providing our assistance both to the family of our colleague, in addition to BMA employees and contractors at the operation.
"The deceased was a father of two and a grandfather to two.
"We are also conducting our own investigations to understand how this incident could have occurred and to ensure every action is taken to prevent something similar in future."
