03/08/2024 - Byerwen - Crush Injury, Crane, Lifting

On Saturday the 3rd of August 2024 at approximately 7.30 am it is believed that coal mine workers were in the process of repositioning a donga using a pick and carry crane (Franna). During lifting operations, the crane rolled over. The toppling crane boom struck and fatally injured a person at the mine, Mr Chris Schloss.
